Trailhead Information

Head west on I-80 out of the Quad Cities, take exit 284, and turn right onto North Plainview Road/60th Ave headed north. Turn left onto Big Rock Road in Dixon and then right onto 52nd Avenue; the River Center is at 31555 52nd Avenue.

Description

The Wapsi River Center offers and provides outdoor and wildlife-oriented recreation. The Center boasts several miles of scenic trails and activities include: hiking, nature studying, bird watching, photography, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing/kayaking, and picnicking. Fires are restricted to fire pits and grills that are provided, pets must be leashed when outdoors, and bicycles are limited to roadway use.

Other Information

The Center is closed to public hunting, trapping, mushrooming, and camping with the exception of special/programming events held by the Center. Bicycles are limited to road way use, pets must be leashed when outdoors, and fires are restricted to fire pits and grills that are provided. The Center also provides a shooting range in support of hunter education courses and a teams course under the direct supervision of staff.
