Trailhead Information

Parking and access to the walking paths can be found immediately adjacent to Schwiebert Park off of 1st Avenue.

Description

Completed in 2010, the park was named for former Rock Island Mayor Mark Schwiebert (1989-2009 terms) for his tireless efforts to promote public use of the riverfront. Once the site of a National Guard Armory, this roughly three acre park now reconnects residents to the riverfront with its boat dock and expansive lawn perfect for picnics and picturesque views of the river and downtown Davenport. The park also includes art sculptures, a performance stage, children’s splash pad and onsite restrooms.
