There are a series of mowed trails, including a bridge across Pike Run, in this rugged area that includes wetlands and woodlands.

The West Side Trail provides a trail connection to numerous regional parks, including Discovery Park, Kent Stein Park, and Deep Lakes Park. Portions of the trail are segments of either or both the Mississippi River Trail and American Discovery Trail.
